Judge Snubs Traffic Stop Cops Land in Prison

Four police officers were jailed after stopping a judge for a traffic offense. The police chief ordered their detention last week, though the case happened months ago. Her Honor Angela Attachie wrote a formal complaint about how they treated her near Adenta Court back in April. The officers blocked her car with tires when she tried driving to work. They also arrested her clerk, who took pictures of their vehicle.

Attachie explained she merely switched lanes early because of heavy traffic before turning toward the court. When stopped, she identified herself as the judge but drove away when officers insisted on arresting her. They followed her to the courthouse entrance, where they blocked her vehicle. The judge had to walk into court with onlookers watching the scene unfold. Her clerk suffered injuries before being held at the station all day.

The police team leader was Inspector Godwin Dey, with three other officers serving on a special task force. Attachie claims regular harassment from police despite her position. She waited three months without hearing from local police before sending her complaint to headquarters. The officers say they simply tried stopping her for careless driving, but she left her car on the road. Their detention came after headquarters called them to give statements about the incident.
