R Kelly Collapses In Prison After Drug Overdose Scare

R Kelly went to Duke University hospital after falling down at his prison cell. The 58-year-old singer collapsed on Friday June 13 at the federal jail where he serves his sentence. Prison guards had given him too much medicine that made him sick. His lawyer says the overdose almost killed the famous musician.

Guards put Kelly alone for three days before the medical emergency happened. He felt weak and tried to stand up but crashed to the floor of his cell. Kelly crawled toward the door and passed out completely. Doctors at the hospital told him prison workers gave him dangerous amounts of his regular drugs.

The singer heard a prison worker say the incident would cause major problems during his ambulance ride. Kelly's legal team claims three prison bosses want another prisoner to hurt him. They asked the court to let him finish his 30-year sentence at home instead of staying behind bars.
