Junet tells NGO vibes to exit as ODM eyes the 2027 crown

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed threw shade at ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna during a rally in Kakamega, exposing nasty internal splits as the opposition party reorganizes ahead of the 2027 General Election after Raila Odinga's death. Speaking at the ODM Linda Ground county tour rally, Junet blasted unnamed party figures for sabotaging ODM's power grab through opposing dialogue with rival parties. He backed the party's push for a broad-based political alliance, dismissed calls for street protests, and insisted ODM must stick strictly to the law.

Junet ripped into party members resisting engagement with government-linked parties. He claimed some leaders freak out whenever ODM gets closer to power and prefer confrontation over negotiations. He described ODM as a disciplined outfit guided by the rule of law and resolutions from its top decision-making organs, telling supporters many want them sitting on roads and streets fighting instead of advancing strategically.

Junet revealed ODM's central committee already decided to open talks with other political parties, starting with President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance. He questioned why individual leaders felt entitled to challenge decisions from the party's highest organs, stressing that discipline and unity must win out. The Suna East MP argued ODM exists to seek and exercise political power, not run like a charity organization.

He stressed Raila founded the party to form a government, not distribute aid, telling critics to build their own NGO if they disagreed with that mission. Junet made clear ODM intends to form alliances with political parties rather than individual leaders, rejecting narrow or personalized arrangements and saying the party would only participate in a broad-based political process ahead of 2027.

He told supporters they want to unite with other parties to build a 2027 government and won't join with one person or anyone with questionable alliances. Junet wrapped up saying he deliberately avoided personal attacks out of respect and maturity, but warned that continued insults and provocation from rivals could force him to respond more directly.
