Juventus Eyes Aymeric Laporte After Marseille Deal Stalls

Juventus turns attention to Aymeric Laporte after talks with Marseille stalled over Leonardo Balerdi. Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport reports the club wants the Spanish defender. Marseille refused to sell Balerdi which forced Juventus to look elsewhere. The Italian team sees Laporte as their new target for the defense. His experience with Spain makes him attractive to club officials.

Laporte earned 40 appearances for the Spanish national team during his career. Al-Nassr no longer favors the defender which could lead to his departure. The Saudi club might release him during the summer transfer window. Marseille showed interest earlier but failed to complete any agreement. Juventus hopes to benefit from this situation.

The Turin club prepares a formal bid worth 10 million euros for Laporte. Management wants to strengthen their defensive line before next season starts. They believe Laporte can help them compete better against top teams. His European experience appeals to Juventus coaches and executives. The club sees him as a key addition to their squad.

Laporte demands 5 million euros per year over three seasons which creates problems. Juventus management wants to lower his wage expectations to finish the deal. His salary request exceeds what the club normally pays defenders. Negotiations might take time because of these financial differences. Both sides must compromise to reach any final agreement.
