Kaizer Chiefs exec divorces, pays R2.2m

A big shot from Kaizer Chiefs just got legally single after cutting a huge check. The Johannesburg High Court finalized the divorce, with the club executive shelling out R2.2 million from a pension fund administered by FundsAtWork. This payment followed months in court and an eventual settlement. The executive holds onto the palatial marital home in Johannesburg, while the ex gets to keep a sport utility vehicle and most of the household furniture.

Additional financial terms were part of the deal. The executive will provide two thousand rand monthly for child support. Another seventy five hundred rand each month will cover the ex’s housing costs, provided they live within twenty kilometers of the old family home. The marriage was described as broken beyond repair due to incompatible life goals and ambitions.

The executive initially filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Legal documents stated the relationship had reached a stage of complete disintegration with no hope of reconciliation. Although the ex planned to challenge the divorce, those plans were dropped after both sides agreed on the settlement terms outside of court.
