Bashundhara Shuvosangho held a community meeting Thursday at Daluachhara High School to address violence against women and children. The organization brought together local leaders and students to discuss serious social issues affecting families. Participants talked about stopping harmful practices like dowry demands and forced marriages of young girls. The event took place at the school located within Islampur union of Kamalganj upazila. Community members learned about ways to protect vulnerable people from abuse.
Shabbir Elahi led the gathering as president of the local Shuvosangho unit. Social worker Indrajit Kumar Singha attended the program along with school principal Debashish Ranjan Dev. Kaler Kantho newspaper reporter Mostafizur Rahman joined the discussion about community safety. General secretary Zakir Hossain guided the conversation throughout the meeting. These leaders shared ideas about creating safer neighborhoods for families.
Students also participated actively during the awareness session. Eighth-grader Suprabha Sinha spoke about problems facing young people in her community. Ninth-grade student Sumi Begum raised concerns about issues affecting her classmates. Several teachers contributed to the discussion about protecting children from harm.
