Large crowds attended events at spots like Imperial Resort Beach Hotel, Aero Beach, and Lido Beach without major trouble. Police supervision at venues including Kitubulu Public Beach, the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, and Victoria Mall helped maintain order. Officers worked with other security agencies like the UPDF on visible and hidden deployments.
One significant fire did occur early on December 26 in Kajjansi Town Council. The blaze destroyed a six-room house in Kitende, though the tenant's family of nine escaped unhurt. The Fire Brigade and detectives are investigating, with a suspected electrical fault as the initial lead. Isolated incidents included an injury at Aero Beach, one fatal road crash, one serious accident, and four minor traffic collisions. Police also arrested several suspected phone snatchers, including a known Kisenyi area criminal called Makona.
