Kampala University founder Kateregga urges Museveni to resolve the Buziga home dispute

Kampala University founder Professor Badru Kateregga has requested President Museveni's intervention in a bitter property conflict with his estranged spouse, Jolly Shubaiha Kateregga. The academic claims government authorities helped his wife remove him from their Buziga residence. Kateregga currently resides in rehabilitation centers while unknown individuals occupy his former home. He emphasizes his contributions as an investor, senior citizen, and author who deserves better treatment.

The professor holds multiple prestigious positions as president of the National Historical Leaders Forum for NRM-Kampala region and founding vice chancellor of Kampala University. He operates universities in Kenya and Rwanda while serving as Uganda's chief scout. Kateregga describes himself as a major taxpayer whose mistreatment could affect future investment decisions. Police investigated the November 2024 complaint but determined the matter requires civil court resolution. The Directorate of Public Prosecutions classified the dispute as a property ownership issue beyond police authority.
