Kaneria mocks Pakistan after Colombo rout, hails Sharma-Gill

Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria criticized his national team's defeat against India during the Asia Cup Super Four match. Pakistan managed 171 runs for five wickets after twenty overs, with Sahibzada Farhan contributing fifty-eight runs and Faheem Ashraf adding twenty runs without dismissal. Indian batsmen Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill dominated the chase with a destructive opening partnership. Sharma struck seventy-four runs from thirty-nine deliveries while Gill scored forty-seven from twenty-eight balls. Their combined effort of one hundred five runs within the first ten overs secured India's six-wicket victory.

Kaneria expressed frustration with Pakistan's pattern of seeking blame after losses. He specifically addressed the dismissal of Fakhar Zaman, who was caught by wicketkeeper Sanju Samson off Hardik Pandya's bowling. The former spinner dismissed any controversy surrounding the catch, stating it was legitimate. He predicted Pakistan would use this incident as an excuse for their poor performance rather than accepting responsibility for the comprehensive defeat.
