Karachi minister vows University of Karachi will champion special education rights

Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui delivered remarks at a University of Karachi conference focused on professional and social workers supporting disabled individuals. The Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training emphasized that educational access represents a fundamental human right. He identified the greatest form of disability as the acceptance of slavery, greed, and dishonest behavior. The minister announced plans to establish the University of Karachi as a hub for specialized educational programs.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi highlighted institutional support measures during the event. The university has eliminated tuition fees for students with disabilities to remove financial barriers. These initiatives demonstrate the institution's commitment to educational accessibility. The conference brought together stakeholders working to advance opportunities for disabled persons. Both speakers reinforced the importance of creating inclusive educational environments that serve all community members effectively.
