Kasoa court jails Kolie Samuel 19 years for robbery after police iPhone bust

Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court sentenced robbery suspect Kolie Samuel to 19 years behind bars after his conviction on theft and assault charges. Central East Regional Police Command officers apprehended Samuel during an intelligence operation at Ngleshie Amanfro on July 10, 2025. The arrest followed his attack on a woman at Millennium City, where he stole her iPhone 16 Pro Max and money-filled purse. Officers discovered the victim's phone plus additional suspicious items during their search of the suspect. Samuel possessed a Dell laptop, multiple mobile devices, AirPods, jewelry, and identification cards belonging to other individuals.

The defendant entered a guilty plea when prosecutors brought robbery and harm charges before the Ofaakor Circuit Court. Authorities believe the recovered electronics and personal belongings represent evidence from additional criminal activities that Samuel committed against other victims. The court imposed concurrent sentences totaling 14 years for robbery and five years for causing harm. Police traced Samuel's location through investigative work that led them to his hiding place in the Ga South Municipality.
