Kate Bails on Ascot Royals Riding Solo

Catherine decided against attending Royal Ascot after planning to join the horse racing event. The Princess of Wales wants to balance her return to public duties following her cancer treatment last year. Royal sources say she feels disappointed about missing the Berkshire sporting occasion. She would have traveled with Prince William and the King and Queen during the carriage procession. Kensington Palace confirmed her absence from the races.

Race fans hoped to see Catherine as William planned to present prizes during the second day events. She appeared cheerful during Monday's Order of the Garter service at Windsor Castle. The princess has increased her public appearances recently with visits to Trooping the Colour and the V&A East Storehouse museum. She announced her cancer remission status during January after returning to the hospital for treatment. Catherine revealed her diagnosis last March before completing chemotherapy and announcing her recovery.

The princess missed Royal Ascot last year during her cancer battle. She expressed gratitude for public support messages received during her illness. Catherine said she was making progress but remained cautious about her health recovery. Her focus centers on staying cancer free after finishing medical treatment. She continues working toward a full return to royal duties.
