Kavango fast tracks Hillside, Nara gold projects

Kavango Resources accelerates Zimbabwe mining operations after completing extensive drilling campaigns and facility construction during the first half of 2025. The UK mining company targets commercial production at Hillside and Nara gold projects within eighteen months through mechanized extraction methods. Drilling activities exceeded seven thousand meters across multiple sites, enhancing resource knowledge for future operations. The firm constructs processing facilities capable of handling 250 tonnes per day, with commissioning scheduled for early 2026. Chief Operating Officer Alexandra Rose Gorman relocated to Zimbabwe to oversee the transition from the exploration to the production phase. The company employs spiral decline mining techniques, uncommon in Zimbabwe but widely used in Australian operations, to access deeper mineral deposits. Current drilling programs span four thousand meters of diamond drilling and forty-five hundred meters of reverse circulation work to develop comprehensive mining plans. This dual approach combines aggressive resource exploration with immediate small-scale production to reduce project risks while generating operational cash flows.
