Kenya Power shared information about electricity cuts happening Sunday across parts of the country. They announced these scheduled outages on their X account, telling customers exactly when each area would lose power. Two counties must prepare for these planned service breaks.
Uasin Gishu residents face a shorter outage lasting from 9 AM until 1 PM. The affected places include Murgor Hills, Tiret, Kaplemut, Kaptebee, plus nearby areas. Everyone living in these locations should plan their activities around these four hours without electricity.
Nyeri County faces much longer power cuts running from 8 AM through 5 PM. The electricity shutdown affects almost everywhere, including the entire Nyeri Town area. Many important places will go dark, such as Outspan Hospital, Golf Club, Nyeri Polytechnic, King'ong'o Prison, Mt Kenya Academy, Kimathi University, major hotels, schools, farms, and businesses throughout the region.
The outage extends into surrounding areas like Karatina Town, covering Karindundu, Tumutumu Hospital, dozens of markets, and schools. Mukurweini Town residents must also prepare, along with nearby markets, schools, and factories. Kenya Power suggests everyone charge phones and prepare beforehand since these power cuts last most of Sunday.
