Kenya Power to Cut Power in Nairobi and Nyeri Monday

Kenya Power wants people to know about a power cut on Monday. The lights will go off in two different places from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The first place is Karen, which is in Nairobi. People who live or work near Karen Road will not have power. This includes the Karen Country Club and some important buildings like the Defense Command Centre and the Medical Training Center. People who live on Forest Lane, Quarry Lane, and Kibo Lane will also not have power.

The second place is the Mt Kenya area in Nyeri. Many places here will have no power, including schools like Brookfield Academy and hotels like Omega Hotel and Oldoiyo Lengai Hotel. Some coffee factories in places called Gich atha-ini and Thunguri won't be able to work during this time.

Many small towns and villages around Mt Kenya will also experience power cuts. These include Mathia, Kianyaga, and Karandi. Safaricom and Airtel phone towers will not work during this time, and Kenya Power says more places in this area might also lose power.

They want everyone living in these areas to plan and be ready for the power cut. It's important to remember that the power will come back on at 5 p.m.
