Kerala BJP targets CM over Sabarimala temple row

The Kerala unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party held a protest on Wednesday outside the chief minister’s official residence, demanding accountability for alleged mismanagement and irregularities at the Sabarimala temple. State BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar led the demonstration, accusing the Left government of targeting Hindu devotees and failing to prevent large-scale corruption in temple affairs.

Chandrasekhar called for the resignation of the Devaswom minister and the Travancore Devaswom Board chairman, urging a central agency to investigate the board’s activities over the past 30 years. He said the BJP would not stay silent and vowed to keep pressing for transparency and justice for worshippers.

The protest followed reports of unauthorized gold plating work on temple idols taken to Chennai, leading to public outcry and disorder in the Kerala Assembly for three consecutive days. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the opposition's disruptions, stating that legal and administrative actions, including a special investigation, were underway.
