Keswa tells Mashaba to run for Joburg mayor after DJ Warras hit

DJ Warras got clipped trying to clean up Joburg, sparking major political drama. Gunmen fatally wounded the activist near the Zambezi Building in the CBD while he tried to evict illegal squatters. This violence motivated podcaster Lebo Keswa to publicly demand that Herman Mashaba reclaim the executive mayor position immediately.

The ex-wife of actress Letoya Makhene argues that Mashaba possesses the unique grit needed to fix the crumbling metropolis. She insists no current ActionSA hopefuls carry the same weight or public trust. Keswa believes his previous exit was purely political, yet his impact on the streets remained solid and practical.

She highlighted his past success battling criminal landlords and boosting investor confidence as proof of competence. The podcaster frames the request as a direct command from residents rather than a polite suggestion. She claims the unchecked chaos and decay prove that organized crime syndicates currently run the show without resistance.

ActionSA spokeswoman Lerato Ngobeni pushed back against the idea that their boss is the solitary option. She argued the party has plenty of capable men and women ready to lead, citing recent wins in Tshwane. They still need to finalize a candidate for the upcoming local government ballot.
