Khami Prison Gets a Fresh Water Fix

The Khami Prison Complex finally solved its water problems thanks to President Mnangagwa's Borehole Drilling Scheme. Both prisoners and guards have faced severe water shortages for years. Finance Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube visited yesterday to start up the first borehole. He brought extra gifts, including 2.5 tons of rice and half a ton of meal meal for everyone there.

Professor Ncube explained how the government tackles infrastructure challenges head-first. They created a three-part plan to fix the ongoing Bulawayo water crisis. The long-term answer involves completing the Gwayi-Tshangani Dam project. For medium-term relief, they'll build Glass Block Dam with business partners. The city will also receive help fixing leaky pipes and improving water use.

ZPCS Bulawayo Commander Mkhunjulelwa Ngwenya expressed deep thanks for this major improvement. He called clean water access a basic human right that helps maintain health and dignity. The prison has dealt with water shortages forever. The minister promised two more boreholes coming soon to meet their needs fully.

Commander Ngwenya appreciated the additional food supplies and water storage tank. These items will make daily life better for the entire prison community. The staff promised to maintain all the new equipment properly. Prison officials thanked President Mnangagwa for remembering them in his national improvement efforts.
