A museum in Khanke, Duhok, showcases more than 1,000 folklore items and historical artifacts collected by founder Ivan Haji over six years. The collection features vintage cameras, old telephones, typewriters, farming tools, traditional instruments, and woven textiles that document Kurdish cultural heritage. Haji visited homes throughout the community to gather donations, and residents contributed family heirlooms after learning about his project.
The facility represents the first museum of its kind in the region, and it houses a library where local authors have donated books. Haji transformed his individual vision into a community effort, with people bringing forgotten items from storage to preserve their shared history.
