Kikwete hails Samia, touts CCM legacy

Former President Jakaya Kikwete praised CCM as the foundation of Tanzania's development and stability at the party's final campaign rally on Monday in Zanzibar's Uzini Constituency. He credited President Samia Suluhu Hassan with delivering progress across all sectors over five years, recommending voters grant her another term to continue policies strengthening education, health and water access.

Kikwete said Zanzibar President Hussein Ali Mwinyi transformed the islands through strategic agriculture, fishing and tourism initiatives that elevated living standards. Rising tourist arrivals at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport demonstrate the archipelago's growing international recognition.

The former head of state urged residents to reject calls for a boycott and misinformation campaigns. CCM's regional secretary predicted the party would capture over 70 percent of the vote at all government levels, based on enthusiastic public response to campaign messages.

Parliamentary and council candidates pledged partnerships with communities to advance local priorities after Wednesday's elections. Kikwete emphasized that CCM serves youth, women, elderly citizens, and people with disabilities equally without discrimination through inclusive development programs.
