A regional boss is fed up with people wrecking road signs. Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner Nurdin Babu urged citizens to protect infrastructure, calling vandalism costly and dangerous. He spoke at a regional road board meeting in Moshi, thanking the national government for major funding. He highlighted the 7.2 billion shilling Mabogini Road project, now split between two contractors for faster completion.
Tanroads Regional Manager Motta Kyando reported 24.6 billion shillings allocated for the area this fiscal year, with 75 percent of 36 projects underway. TARURA Manager Juma Wambura stated his agency had 50.42 billion shillings for projects, with 84 percent progress and 30 bridges built. Babu stressed that damaged signs pose a serious risk, especially to visitors lacking proper road guidance.
