A developer called killihu just dropped a new tool for Ableton Live users. Their EPC Devices are Max for Live gadgets that let you run VST plugins like they're built right into Live. The whole idea is to stop constantly opening and closing those separate plugin windows. You control everything directly from the track's effect section instead, which supposedly speeds up your work.
These devices don't just wrap a VST inside Max. They use reverse engineering to rebuild every single knob and slider from the original plugin. This means the communication between the VST and your DAW stays direct and unmodified. The interface is made to look like a native Live device, and it even works properly with Push 3, showing controls on its screen.
