Kingdom Come Dev Health Crisis Fuels AI Speed Hopes

Video game fans bought two million copies of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 just weeks after its release. The game took almost seven years to create, and this long development hurt director Daniel Vávra's health.

Vávra needs rest after suffering serious health problems last year from stress. He feels frustrated that games take years to make because he has many ideas to create. He hopes artificial intelligence will speed up game-making someday without replacing human developers.

The director mentioned he has several project ideas with as much promise as Kingdom Come. He thinks these need careful planning to avoid chaotic development. Players can expect downloadable content for the current game before any new projects start.

Vávra praised parent company Embracer for giving his team freedom to create without interference. He said they faced almost no outside pressure about creative choices. Three add-on packs, Brushes with Death, Legacy of the Forge, and Mysteria Ecclesia, will be released soon.
