KPC Oilers secret to owning African volleyball

Kenya Pipeline Company built more than just a volleyball team. Through steady support for over 40 years, KPC turned the Oilers into one of Africa's best squads. The company sees volleyball as both a sport and a way to spread its name. Their backing goes beyond money, covering training spaces, equipment, coaches, and medical care.

KPC managing director Joe Sang says sports matter deeply to the company. The Oilers feature top national players like Noel Murambi and Leonida Kasaya, who helped put Kenya on the map. The team mixes veteran talent with rising stars such as Faith Imodia and Marian Sokoiyo. Coach Geoffrey Omondi focuses on improving players and fixing weak spots.

Captain Gladys Ekaru joined in 2019 and keeps pushing the team toward their goals. Veteran player Murambi called their recent second-place finish at the African Championship a chance to learn. The Oilers have become role models for young athletes across Kenya and Africa. Their success shows what hard work can achieve and inspires other women to chase their dreams.
