KTMB adds 11,340 extra ETS seats for school holiday rush

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd expands Electric Train Service operations between KL Sentral and Padang Besar during the upcoming holiday periods. The railway company schedules additional trips across 18 operational days spanning three separate timeframes from August 28 through September 21. Travelers can purchase tickets beginning tomorrow at 10 am through multiple booking channels. These enhanced services target school vacation periods and national celebrations such as National Day, Maulidur Rasul, and Malaysia Day. The expanded schedule provides 11,340 additional passenger seats throughout the extended service period.

Southbound trains depart Padang Besar at 11.05 am and reach KL Sentral by 4.30 pm each operating day. Northbound services leave KL Sentral at 5 pm and arrive in Padang Besar at 10.20 pm. Passengers must arrive at stations 30 minutes before scheduled departures, as ticket gates close five minutes before train movement. The KITS Style application enables convenient online ticket purchasing through major mobile platforms. KTMB encourages early booking to secure better fares and avoid holiday travel complications.
