Kuda Tagwirei Gets Nod for ZANU PF Central Committee

ZANU PF leaders from Harare all agreed to add businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei to their Central Committee. They made this decision during their Monday meeting at party offices on March 31. The group talked about many issues, including the upcoming Glenview South elections, where Tsitsi Tawomhera will run for ZANU PF. They also discussed how the party should respond to failed protests and which empty positions needed filling.

Harare Provincial Chairperson Godwills Masimirembwa confirmed that everyone backed Tagwirei joining the Central Committee. He said Tagwirei already belongs to ZANU PF in Harare Province. Masimirembwa described him as someone who thinks ahead in business and has a strong vision. The chairperson explained they will send their recommendation to party Secretary General Obert Mpofu, showing Harare Province wants Tagwirei included.

Andy Mhlanga, who serves as Deputy Secretary for Economic Affairs, believes successful businesspeople should help lead the party. He pointed out that Tagwirei has supported ZANU PF for years. Mhlanga mentioned this creates a chance for Tagwirei to work directly inside the party, helping push economic growth programs forward.

Other party groups liked this choice because it fit with ZANU PF's plans to transform the economy. The party wants to create an upper-middle-income society by 2030. These openings happened because some members faced suspension or lost their positions due to breaking party rules. The empty seats give ZANU PF a chance to bring fresh talent into important leadership roles.
