Kunaka's patrols to hunt down farm supply hustlers

Zimbabwe launches a nationwide campaign against smuggled agricultural inputs before the summer planting season. The Fertiliser, Farm Seed and Remedies Institute partners with police and revenue authorities to inspect border posts and retail outlets from October through January. Officials will revoke licenses from dealers selling unregistered or expired products as farmers prepare for normal to above normal rainfall.

Charity Kunaka leads the initiative targeting counterfeit pesticides and fertilizers advertised through social media platforms. Cotton chemical manufacturers warn of 22 million dollars in potential losses if growers misuse approved products. Research institutes collect field samples to monitor pest resistance while training programs educate farmers about proper chemical rotation and integrated pest management techniques across cotton-growing regions.
