KWS flags fake ranger jobs as scammers circle

Wildlife officials are warning about a fake job scam circulating online. The Kenya Wildlife Service alerted citizens about a fraudulent recruitment link for ranger positions. This deceptive advertisement spreads across social media platforms, attempting to trick eager job seekers. The agency clarified that the link has no affiliation with its legitimate hiring processes.

The service strongly advised the public against clicking the link or sharing personal data. Officials emphasized that no payments should be made in response to these messages. All genuine KWS recruitment is communicated through official channels only. These include the service's verified website and its mainstream media announcements.

This scam mirrors a similar scheme targeting another government authority. The Kenya Rural Roads Authority also issued a public alert about deceptive messages. These false communications followed recent legitimate job vacancy advertisements from the authority.

KeRRA confirmed it never conducts recruitment assessments via unsolicited text messages. The authority does not request any form of payment from applicants. It only uses officially designated channels for all hiring communication. Any message seeking personal information or payments should be considered fraudulent.

The roads authority reported the suspicious contacts circulating false information. It urged the public to ignore any links claiming to be from KeRRA. Both agencies stress vigilance to protect citizens from these predatory schemes.
