The former Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has strongly opposed any suggestion to amend the constitutional clause limiting presidents to two terms. He stated that such proposals endanger democratic foundations and must be stopped. He cited Article 66(2) of the Constitution as being unequivocal on this matter.
