Lamido Sets Up Team to Honor Fombina Legacy

The head of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo Mustafa, just picked a team of 19 members to celebrate the rich past of the Fombina Royal Dynasty. This dynasty represents the Adamawa Emirate, the top royal kingdom in Adamawa State. As king, the Lamido leads all chiefs across the state.

This celebration will highlight how the emirate shaped Nigeria from its start in 1809 until today. The team came together Saturday at the royal palace in Yola. The king explained that the Royal Historians Foundation of Nigeria teamed up with his Emirate Council for this project.

The team's boss, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, who rules as Emir of Zazzau, said they would work hard on this task. The big event includes launching a book about Fombina, celebrating the king's Crystal Jubilee, hosting talks about 1800s research, showing museum pieces, and running horse races.

The committee includes important leaders from across Northern Nigeria. Among them are the co-chair of Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar; deputy chair Malam Mustafa Aminu, who serves as Galadima Adamawa; and many respected title-holders, history experts, and learned people from the region.
