Starfield Fans Rejoice as Beta Patch Nixes Game Quirks

Bethesda Game Studios released a Starfield Beta update on Steam after a long, quiet period. Players can download version 1.15.214 through their digital library settings. The update brings Very Low display settings for better performance on some devices.

The Creation Kit received upgrades allowing creators to add new icons to the game. Players can also enjoy larger creations up to 2GB, with bundling support in the Creations Store. Many bug fixes address control locks, crashes, quest problems, and skills issues.

Graphics improvements came with additional resolutions for different screen ratios. Players who experienced frame rate drops when using scanners during long sessions should see better performance. The update also fixed problems with celestial bodies disappearing from the sky.

Vehicle changes make the game more user-friendly with keyboard binding for boost buttons. Players will notice vehicle markers on their compass, making navigation easier. Bethesda hinted that more "exciting things" might come to Starfield later in 2025, possibly announced at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8.
