PUBG Productions opened a new closed beta for Prologue Go Wayback, a single-player survival roguelike game. The beta runs from May 7 to May 14 on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players must join the official Discord for codes, which come on a first-come, first-served basis. The studio plans another test starting June 2, ahead of its early access launch in summer 2025.
PUBG creator Brendan Greene told Wccftech that the game helps develop machine learning tech for terrain generation. Each playthrough creates new landscapes, testing systems for future projects. Greene aims to build a simple but engaging single-player world where every game differs from the last. The game creates unique 8x8 worlds similar to games like Don't Starve. This marks the fifth test since the game was first shown last December.
