Lance makes history, signs Saudi star Saud Abdulhamid from Roma

Lance secured Saud Abdulhamid on a season-long loan from Roma with purchase rights. The 26-year-old right-back becomes the first Saudi Arabian player to compete in French football. Abdulhamid earned 38 international appearances for his national team throughout his career.

The defender started at Al-Ittihad in Jeddah after advancing through youth ranks before joining the senior squad in December 2018. He transferred to Al-Hilal during the 2021-2022 campaign and claimed league honors. Abdulhamid reached both AFC Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup finals against Real Madrid while recording an assist.

Al-Hilal completed an unbeaten domestic season with Abdulhamid contributing across 29 matches. He scored three goals and delivered five assists during their historic league campaign. The Saudi star earned both league and King's Cup trophies with the club.

Roma acquired his services in 2024 where he scored against Braga in Europa League competition. Manager Claudio Ranieri praised his professional attitude despite limited playing time of 380 minutes.
