Land Reform Magic Deeds Delivered in Days

The Zimbabwe government made it easier for people to own their land properly. They opened a special office where farmers could receive important papers called title deeds, which prove the land belonged to them. The government also helps farmers who cannot pay all the money at once.

Two government offices work together to make everything happen faster. They help people who already have permission to use the land. When farmers pay with cash, they can receive their papers in three days. Some farmers might want to pay over time, and they can start by paying a part of the money first. Banks will help farmers pay for their land, and the government will tell everyone more about this plan soon.

Farmers need to fill out some forms with help from special workers. They must bring copies of their ID cards and other important papers. Each farmer pays ten US dollars to start. Someone called a surveyor checks the land and makes sure nobody else claims it belongs to them.

Another person calculates the cost of the land and asks for permission to sell it. After the farmer pays all the money, someone writes down all the information. Then, another person checks everything and gives the farmer a paper saying they own the land.

The government started giving land to people in 2000. This new method of giving out title deeds is better for farmers because they can use their land to borrow money from banks. On December 20, President Mnangagwa showed everyone how this works at a farm called Pricabe in Kwekwe. This makes many farmers happy because they know their land belongs to them forever.
