Landlord busted for housing 100 cyber scammers

Landlord busted for renting to a hundred alleged cyber crooks. A property owner in Tabora, Accra got arrested after police found roughly one hundred suspected scammers living in his house. Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George said a joint security raid happened early in the morning in Tabora and Lashibi. The operation nabbed one hundred forty-one people total. Officials think those arrested are Nigerian nationals. The minister explained the landlord's arrest by saying property owners must stop their buildings from being used for crime.

The suspects are linked to mobile money fraud, romance scams, and business email schemes. Police also took thirty-eight laptops and one hundred fifty mobile phones as evidence. These devices are thought to have been used for various cyber crimes like wire fraud and sextortion. The early morning raid was based on intelligence work. Minister George emphasized the landlord's duty to prevent criminal activity on his premises. The one hundred suspects in Tabora were all housed in that single residence.
