Latin clubs stranded in Dhaka, someone forgot the return tickets

What a total clown show over in Bangladesh. This supposed international soccer cup ended with Argentine and Brazilian players stuck in their Dhaka hotels because the organizers bounced without paying for their flights. Teams from Argentina, Atlético Charlone, and Brazil, São Bernardo, got completely stranded after their final match got axed. The whole mess got promoted by some outfit called AF Boxing Promotion International, run by a guy named Mohammad Asaduzzaman.

The Brazilian coach, Edson, was super pissed. He said they only found out their tickets were fake when they got to the airport. His club had to buy the last-minute flights themselves. He even complained to the Brazilian embassy and soccer officials back home, basically saying they'd never come back to Bangladesh. Players from both foreign teams were just sitting around for days. Some from São Bernardo finally left because their actual club had games to play, but others were still waiting. It wasn't just the international guys either. Two expat players for a local side, Kasper Haque and Ibrahim Nawaz, got screwed with fake tickets too and couldn't fly out.

The head of the Bangladesh Football Federation, Imran Hossain Tushar, tried to do damage control. He admitted the promoter was supposed to handle all the travel and totally failed. He promised the federation would either book the flights or pay the players back if they bought their own. The whole thing fell apart after security guards at the National Stadium reportedly got rough with some journalists, which made the National Sports Council pull the plug on the event entirely. Just a completely unprofessional disaster from start to finish.
