Legend Internet flexes fibre, AI, and investor clout

An ISP is trying really hard to make you forget last year's outages. Legend Internet Plc wrapped up the year pushing a story of resilience and big upgrades. Their Chief Marketing Officer, Shakirah Alaga, talked up several milestones aimed at restoring customer trust. She specifically mentioned launching a product called Legend Omni FTTR for whole-home fiber, claiming it as an industry first in Nigeria. The company also signed a major partnership deal with Huawei to boost its network tech.

On the customer service side, Legend introduced an AI assistant named Nina on WhatsApp and its app. They also started using AI for internal operations to improve efficiency. Financially, the company pointed to a fully subscribed Commercial Paper issuance as proof of investor faith. A key move was getting listed on the Nigerian Exchange to boost credibility. They also landed a deal as the broadband provider for Trojan Estates, a high-end residential development in Lagos. Alaga stated their focus remains on deepening customer relationships and translating innovation into better everyday internet experiences.
