Power Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari announced plans to strengthen commercial ties with Kyrgyzstan. During Monday's Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Inter-Governmental Commission meeting in Islamabad, Leghari stated that reaching $100 million in bilateral commerce requires sustained cooperation between various industries. The minister identified several key measures for progress. These involve reestablishing the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Joint Business Council, maintaining business-to-business engagement, and completing an important memorandum of understanding for electronic data exchange between customs departments. Leghari praised Kyrgyzstan's focus on Pakistan's mining industry, particularly regarding opportunities for copper and gold extraction.
