Lil Durk seeks dismissal of Los Angeles murder-for-hire case

Lil Durk has asked a federal court to dismiss his murder-for-hire case, saying the indictment lacks enough detail for a fair defense. Authorities allege the Chicago rapper organized a plan to kill Quando Rondo in response to King Von’s death in 2020. Prosecutors claim Durk directed members of his Only The Family group to Los Angeles in August 2022, where an attempted shooting at a gas station left Rondo unharmed and his cousin Saviay’a Robinson dead.

Durk’s attorneys argue the indictment does not identify who received instructions or when and where offers were made, making it difficult to mount a defense. They have filed a motion to dismiss the charges or require prosecutors to provide specific information. Durk remains in federal custody after his October 17 arrest near Miami International Airport. A hearing on the motion is set for 10 a.m. on Nov. 18 before U.S. District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald in Los Angeles.
