A Colorado game studio launched a Kickstarter campaign Thursday for Lionhearts, seeking $100,000 to fund their medieval multiplayer project. The campaign has already raised more than half its goal after one day. Credenzio Studios previously created a popular version of the game on ROBLOX that attracted over 6.3 million players since 2018. The new standalone version will use Unreal Engine 5 technology.
The game takes place during the Third Crusade of the 12th century and promises historical accuracy. Players can choose from military, religious or trade career paths across 16 different factions. The world features 12 player-controlled kingdoms and four military orders where real people hold all leadership positions. Characters can become knights, merchants, bishops or even kings who rule the Holy Land.
Credenzio plans to create a persistent online world without loading screens through server meshing technology. Every location exists as a single instance that all players share. The developers cite inspiration from Mount and Blade, Assassin's Creed, Helldivers and EVE Online. Players interested can download a visual demo from the Kickstarter page or add the game to their Steam wishlist.
