LNER Launches £1.2 Million Architecture Framework for Station Upgrades

London North Eastern Railway wants three architecture teams for station projects across Britain. The rail company offers a 1.2 million pound contract that lasts two years with one extra year possible. Teams will work on train stations from London all the way up to Scotland. The companies will take turns doing different jobs at various locations. Each project can cost up to 2 million pounds for construction work.

LNER runs trains between major cities like Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. The government owns this train company that started operations during 2018. Workers will design new waiting areas and fix old station buildings. They also plan better signs to help passengers find their way around stations. The job covers many regions such as Yorkshire, East Midlands and East of England.

Judges will pick winners based on quality, price and community benefits. Quality scores count for half the total points during evaluation. Price makes up 40 percent and social value adds the final 10 percent. Teams must send their bids before July 14, 2025. The contract helps LNER improve passenger experiences at train stations.
