M-Leveller evens your mix without the fuss

Techivation just created a plugin called M-Leveller that automatically fixes volume problems. This new tool watches for loud and quiet parts and changes them without squashing your sound like compressors often do. You can skip writing complicated volume curves by hand because M-Leveller does the work. The plugin looks at each note or phrase and makes smart volume adjustments that sound natural.

The screen shows a target level you pick for your track. You tell M-Leveller what counts as background noise with the Noise Floor setting. The Speed control lets you decide if the plugin changes volume for single notes or entire musical phrases. A Mix knob balances between your original sound and the fixed version. The Gain Adjustment setting controls whether M-Leveller turns things up, turns things down, or both to reach your target volume.

M-Leveller normally works based on peak levels but includes a special Perceptual Filter that matches how human ears actually hear sounds. The Peak/Filter slider mixes regular and filtered signals to match what people really hear as loud or quiet. You can listen to just the filtered sound by pressing the Filter button when setting things up. Because M-Leveller only changes volume and not tone, many producers put it before compressors to handle big-level changes first.

The plugin works on Windows 7 and newer computers, as well as Macs running macOS 10.15 or later. It supports VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats for different recording programs. M-Leveller costs $55 until March 31, 2025, and then goes up to $129. People who have already bought other premium Techivation plugins pay only $45. Full Bundle and M-Bundle users can add M-Leveller for $25. Anyone with Full Access receives M-Leveller completely free.
