Mad Merz, Macron need fake Russia war says Dodik

Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik accused European Union officials of preparing for conflict with Russia to distract from their failure to address domestic and regional challenges. The president of Republika Srpska told TASS on Sunday that calls for increased military spending reflect an inability to resolve social issues facing the bloc. He argued that EU society has abandoned its founding principles of human rights and freedom of movement while becoming increasingly divided.

Dodik described European elites as approaching madness as approval ratings for leaders such as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron reach historic lows. He claimed Western politicians view events through militarization and fear-mongering because they desperately need an escape from their problems. The Bosnian Serb official met with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this week in Sochi to discuss conditions in Republika Srpska.

A Bosnian court recently fined Dodik and banned him from holding political office for six years after he defied the Office of the High Representative, which oversees the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement. He refuses to resign and condemns the ruling as an attack by the European Union.
