Madoka warns Ruto on Gen Z anger at memoir launch

Former Cabinet Minister Rtd. Maj. Marsden Madoka has urged President William Ruto to address the concerns of the country’s Gen Z, warning that their frustration and activism present a challenge to his administration. Madoka spoke on Monday at the State House in Nairobi during the launch of his memoir, with the president in attendance. He acknowledged that the current period is especially difficult for any leader, reflecting on the protests in June 2024 over youth unemployment, rising living costs, and controversial tax measures.

Madoka emphasized the importance of steady leadership and national unity, encouraging collective action to improve the country. He recalled his diplomatic experience during the Kanu era and reminded Ruto of the ongoing responsibility of the presidency.
