Hangar 13 shared new details about Mafia: The Old Country at a PAX East panel. The team wants to keep the game similar to earlier Mafia titles with a linear story that lets players explore 1900s Sicily. Game director Alex Cox said players will find both new activities and updated versions of familiar missions from past games.
Knife fights will play a major role in combat, though guns remain part of the action. The gameplay feels more like the first Mafia game rather than the more action-heavy Mafia III. Riccardo Frascari plays the main character Enzo Favara, with Johnny Santiago as Don Bernado Torrisi and Carina Conti as Isabella Torrisi.
Cox confirmed four characters from earlier Mafia games will appear, but kept their identities secret. The team worked hard on small details, even finding a Czech car collector who let them photograph and record century-old vehicles for accuracy. The game launches for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on August 8, 2025.
