Magaya Overwhelmed by Support in Harare Service

Prophet Draws Massive Crowd After Social Media Storm.

PHD Ministries founder Walter Magaya broke into tears at his Harare church service Sunday, moved by the thousands of supporters who had gathered to show their support.

The religious leader recently faced criticism over his bid for the ZIFA presidency and questions about his honorary doctorate. In response, his followers packed the Waterfalls church.

"The large turnout, including international visitors, has humbled me," Magaya told H-Metro. "The leadership conference starting Friday had huge attendance, uplifting my faith in the one who anointed me."

Magaya declined to address the ZIFA election controversy. Instead, his congregation chanted, saying critics aimed to damage their leader's reputation. The massive crowd seemed to signal their unwavering support.

The church erupted in song when he arrived, singing "Siyanai naye Magaya," a tune often used when someone faces public attacks. The prophet knelt in prayer, overwhelmed with emotion.

Church official Admire Mango reported visitors from the United States, Netherlands, and several African nations attended the service. "Our ministry keeps expanding, especially after the Covid-19 challenges," he said.

Church member Trynos Mazvivinga expressed faith in Magaya's leadership. "His ZIFA presidency withdrawal doesn't affect us. Yadah Football Club's losses never shook our trust in God or his ministry leadership. We honor his anointing beyond these setbacks."
