Magwizi on home game blues and a new stadium plan

Nqobile Magwizi, the Zifa president, almost said today that it always hurts when the Warriors play home games in another country. The Warriors will face Benin in a Group C World Cup qualifier on Thursday at Moses Mabidha Stadium in South Africa.

The local players are already in Durban. Michael Nees' team should have their first full practice on Tuesday when most of the foreign players arrive.

Magwizi talked to Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume. The mayor promised to give 40 hectares in HighGlen to build a stadium. Zifa will also receive a sports club for the Mighty Warriors. Rufaro and Gwanzura stadiums will be fixed up.

"You have shown us amazing kindness," Magwizi told Mayor Mafume. "Having the right buildings is one of our most important goals. We can't run any of our programs without them. We share a duty to those who love football in Zimbabwe."
