After the Bihar election schedule was announced, disagreements arose within the Mahagathbandhan regarding the chief minister candidate and seat-sharing, while the ruling BJP and JD-U on Wednesday dismissed the opposition’s internal issues. Union Minister Giriraj Singh stated that Nitish Kumar will lead the NDA, and seat-sharing details will be announced soon. Singh noted that Congress named Tejashwi Yadav as RJD’s chief ministerial candidate, while the Mahagathbandhan has yet to finalize its leadership, but the NDA leadership is already set. Bihar Minister Ashok Choudhary emphasized that the NDA remains focused on its campaign and the public’s support.
The RJD and Samajwadi Party insisted that the alliance remains united and seat-sharing discussions are nearing completion, with announcements expected within days. RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said every party will be represented fairly in the seat allocation. Samajwadi Party leader Virendra Singh stated that the Mahagathbandhan stands together ideologically, and disputes are not present within the group. Bihar Assembly elections will take place in two phases on November 6 and on November 11, with results scheduled for release on November 14.
