BJP promises NDA win as Bihar election date nears

The Bharatiya Janata Party expressed confidence about forming another National Democratic Alliance government in Bihar ahead of the Election Commission of India's anticipated schedule announcement on Monday. BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat stated the election announcement represents positive progress toward stable governance in the state. Senior party leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy confirmed readiness following completion of the Special Intensive Revision work that makes elections necessary.

The Congress welcomed the poll schedule announcement but criticized the commission for allegedly avoiding responsibilities and operating under BJP influence. Spokesperson Alok Sharma questioned the commission's transparency after it failed to address all media inquiries. The current assembly term expires on Nov. 22, and election officials planned the schedule to avoid conflicts with Diwali and Chhath festivals between Oct. 18 and Oct. 28.

The 2020 elections saw the NDA secure 125 seats against the Mahagathbandhan's 110 seats. Each polling booth will serve 1,200 voters instead of 1,500 this year.
