Make-up artist jailed for naira tossing at wedding

Nigerian courts jailed a make-up artist for six months because he threw money at his wedding party last December. Abdullahi Musa Huseini, known as "Amuscap" by his fans, admitted guilt before the judge locked him up in Kano city. Many people toss cash at weddings in Nigeria to show happiness and success. The act, named "spraying," happens at most big parties. But the government views this as an insult to the naira, which stands as a key national symbol.

The ban against throwing money comes from rules created in 2007. Anyone who sprays, dances on, or steps across the naira faces jail for half a year. They might also pay a fine of 50,000 naira, equal to about $32 or £25. The crime group said Amuscap broke this law with 100,000 naira during his celebration dance. Other famous people have faced the same charge recently. Last year, both Bobrisky and actress Oluwadarasimi each spent six months in jail.

Many fans expressed anger about this strict punishment online. They feel upset that a wedding celebration ended with prison time. One person noted that rich thieves who steal from public funds often avoid any penalty. Yet this man sits behind bars just for throwing money he earned fairly. This difference makes people ask if the law works the same for everyone. Many question why courts chase wedding dancers instead of criminals who harm the country more.
